PRODUCTS
As Roman Plastics focuses on custom moulding to a large extent a wide variety of products are manufactured utilizing various materials. We have experience in the use of most of the engineering materials, from transparent, clear or tinted items to colour pigmented and master batched to specific colour matching required by our customers. Our company manufactures products with the high standards set by industry in terms of product design, mould design, mould manufacturing as well as product manufacture and assembly.
Our customers are based in South Africa, mainly in Gauteng, North West, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Western Cape Provinces. We have also manufactured and exported tooling and products to Goulden Products for Disneyworld in Orlando, USA. These products comply with the applicable FDA codes. (21CFR801.40)
Most of our clients are in the electrical/electronic industry sector. We also supply to the medical, pharmaceutical/cosmetic, military, promotional, educational and general industrial sectors.

We manufacture a wide range of street lamp lenses and diffusers from 150 watt to 400 watt. These are moulded in High and Medium impact clear UV stabilized Acrylic. Lenses are moulded, trimmed, packed and delivered ready to be installed by our customer as part of a complete lamp fitting which is sold to city councils throughout South Africa. |
| ELECTRICAL PLUG ADAPTERS AND LAMP HOLDERS |

Roman Plastics main line of injection moulded items is electric plug adapters accommodating IEC and DIN two pin sockets, multi-pin connectors, two, three and four way adapters, single and bi-pin lamp holders and variations thereof. These are moulded from virgin Polycarbonate or virgin Polypropylene calcium filled material conforming to the SABS standard requirement for glow wire testing. The stringent quality standards for these items requires Roman Plastics to work according to the ISO 9000 principles and procedures for Quality Management. |
| EDUCATION, TRAINING, SCHOOL AND CLASSROOM AID |
| Plastic products used in education and training is another of our main activity areas. We manufacture various items for schools and classroom use ranging from IQ- testing sets to blackboard rulers, triangles and squares. A wide variety of plastic injection moulding materials are used in the manufacture of these items i.e. ABS, High Impact Polystyrene, Polycarbonate, SAN, Polypropylene and LDPE. Some of these items are fully assembled by Roman Plastics before delivery to our customers. |
| GENERAL INDUSTRIAL SECTOR |

We manufacture a very large variety of plastic products for general industrial use. Some of these are PVC floor tiles, construction wall steps, conveyor belt bearing housings, seals and dust covers, electrical circuit breaker boxes and windows as well as water sprayers. For industrial products we make use of unfilled and glass filled Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Acetyl, ultra high impact ABS, PVDF, ULTEM, PET, PBT, TPU,TPR and soft PVC. |
| HOUSEHOLD AND CLINICAL |
The
very first range of plastic products manufactured by Roman Plastics
was the NAMPAK paper dispensers used in hospitals, toilets, kitchens
and other public areas for example airports. This was a turnkey project
where Roman Plastics designed the products, designed the tools, did
the tool making and eventually did the injection moulding and assembly
of the full range of paper tissue dispensers. Subsequent to that we
also made various other household and clinical products like toothbrush
holders, soap dishes, toothpaste squeezers, cream containers, measuring
jugs, gravy separators and even solar heating panel equipment for swimming
pools. |
